What aspects should you focus on when choosing an ergonomic chair?
The first thing to say is that, like I said above, everyone is unique. Although I can recommend some general-purpose ergonomic chairs, I highly recommend that you try it out in a physical store before purchasing, or after purchasing, repeatedly adjust the height, angle, etc. to achieve your most suitable state.
People at different stages have different needs for the angle and height of the chair. For example, when I am completely relaxing and resting, I like to adjust the chair to a very low position, so that my feet can be stretched very long, and my body can lie on the chair. The seat is straightened, and the small table is put away (the stewardess: seems to be stealing my lines?) to keep the body upright and increase the support of the waist, so that I can work for a longer time.
For ordinary people to choose ergonomic chairs, there are four main parts to focus on.
The first part is the seat cushion. The seat cushion is the part of a chair that can withstand pressure for a long time. As I mentioned just now, if those cushions made of non-breathable materials will make you feel uncomfortable after sitting for a long time, first of all, it should be checked whether the material of the cushion is breathable? Generally speaking, the cushions of ergonomic chairs are divided into sponge cushions and mesh cushions. The shape of the seat cushion is generally waterfall-like at the front. This will reduce the pressure on the hip and thigh nerves. Makes you more comfortable doing it. For the choice of seat cushion, don't buy a chair that is too soft, similar to a sofa with strong wrapping, especially for people who are heavy, sitting for a long time is simply a kind of torture.
2nd part seat back. Whether an ergonomic chair is excellent or not, the most important thing is the design of the chair back. Because the back of the chair needs to help us share the pressure on the waist and back, so that we can not be tired for a long time. Ergonomic chairs generally have an S-shaped back, which is the key to distinguishing them from ordinary desk chairs.
We want to choose those chairs that fit better with the human spine and can distribute the weight of the body evenly. Better seat for eliminating pressure points and heat. The inclination angle of the seat back should be adjustable to meet different needs.
3rd part lumbar support. The lumbar support is also the focal point of a chair. The lumbar support can be divided into two types: adjustable and non-adjustable. We choose lumbar support, preferably those that can be adjusted and have better elasticity, which can provide good support for the waist when we study or work for a long time.
The 4th part is the armrest. Handrails are also a must. For me, because I have to type for a long time. There is an armrest that provides good support for my arms.
The armrest of the ergonomic chair is divided into two modes: connected with the back of the chair and not connected together. My suggestion is to choose the one that is connected and adjustable, so that when you adjust the back of the chair to recline, the armrests can be kept at the same angle as the back of the chair or slightly flat, allowing you to provide a more comfortable support.
Some engineering seats can also adjust the armrest up and down or back and forth. This gives us more options.
The last aspect is the headrest. Of course. The headrest is also a part of the ergonomic seat, but it is not the most important part, because when we work and study in a normal posture, our head is generally tilted forward a little bit, so that the head is basically not resting on the headrest. The role of the headrest is generally used when resting. It is also divided into adjustable and non-adjustable modes. This can be selected according to your needs.
